Palo Duro Canyon State Park

By August 3, 2019 August 30th, 2019 Campsites

Stop Two was The Great Texas Bar Ditch, otherwise known as Palo Duro canyon. A rift in the Llano Estocado leads to a steep descent down the canyon wall into the Hackberry Campground.

We took an evening stroll down the Rojo Rio Trail to an off-trail overlook, toward the canyon entrance and its western walls.

Rebecca and Denver in fine form.

Sean gets a souvenir from the musical!

A little ironic that on what could very well be our last day in Texas we finally see the classic performance of “Texas”, a musical set against stark cliffs and Lone Star flags.  What a sendoff!
